Tour to the Alkmaar Cheese market and Windmills from Amsterdam
Enjoy a full day Sightseeing tour to the Alkmaar Cheese market, windmills, the countryside, a local cheese and clogs factory and Volendam.
The Alkmaar Cheese Market is the oldest and largest in the Netherlands. Since 1365, Alkmaar has had one cheese scale, and by 1612, the city had as many as four cheese scales. Even the Waagplein, where the cheese market has been held since its inception, has been expanded several times.
The next stop is the Zaanse Schans. Here are special windmills such as the paint windmill, the sawmill, spices mill and peanut oil mill.
Thereafter you will see a wooden shoe demonstration and there is a possibility to buy clogs/wooden shoes and other nice souvenirs.
The second stop will be at the Henri Willig farm where they will teach you how they treat their cows and there is a possibility to see how they milk the cows.

In just one day you will see the key sights that give a good impression of the Battle of the Bulge. We will see a German Panther Tank, the bunker where Patton's troops reached Bastogne, McAuliffe Place with the General's statue and a Sherman Tank, the Mardasson Memorial with the iconic Bastogne War Museum. Of course we visit the foxholes of Easy Coy, 506PIR, 101st Airborne Division, the famous Band of Brothers and the village of Foy, taken in January 1945.
But keep in mind it is a 3,5 hour drive to Bastogne without traffic delays. We will have a coffee break and the guide will bring a can of coffee and some bottled water.
