According to tradition the relics of the Apostles, Sts. Peter and Paul, were placed under the dome's supporting pillars. Also we will visit Karahundj (Armenia’s Stonehenge). This stone circle, now shown to be a prehistoric observatory, long predates Stonehenge in England. Ancient inscriptions found here may mark the birthplace of the Zodiac – and of Western Civilization itself. Possibly it was the world's first astronomical observatory founded 7500 years ago. Lake Sevan is a freshwater lake of the Armenian Highland, the largest lake in the Caucasus. Visit to Sevanavank - monastery on the northwest coast of Lake Sevan. The monastery is located on the Sevan peninsula, which was previously a small island.
We will continue our way to Tavush region of Armenia - the small resort town of Dilijan. The next stop is Haghartsin Monastery, which was built in the X-XIII centuries, mostly under the auspices of the Bagratuni dynasty. We will also visit Goshavank - a monastery complex of the XII-XIII centuries in the village of Gosh in Armenia. Goshavank is a cultural, educational and religious center of medieval Armenia.
