Bangkok Temple Walking Tour: Wat Pho Reclining Buddha & Wat Arun
Bangkok's two greatest temples sit side by side on the Chao Phraya riverbank — and most visitors rush through both without understanding what they're seeing.
Wat Pho was founded in the 16th century, predating Bangkok itself. King Rama I rebuilt it in 1788 as Thailand's first public university. Its 46-metre Reclining Buddha, covered in gold leaf with 108 mother-of-pearl symbols on its feet, represents the Buddha's passage into nirvana — not sleep.
From there, a short local ferry crosses the river to Wat Arun. King Rama III covered its 82-metre prang with millions of broken Chinese porcelain fragments, recycled from export ceramics. In direct sunlight, the whole tower shimmers.
Your expert guide explains the history most visitors never hear, in a small group of maximum 15 people. Multiple daily departures from 9 AM. Instant confirmation. Last-minute bookings welcome.

We can easily spend a few hours here. However, after you have digested your dinner a boat will be waiting for our river cruise. We know a special place where we may witness fascinating fireflies abundantly lighting up the sky. I never get enough of seeing these nightly creatures and like to share this experience with you.
