The Fundació Cabanas was created to preserve the “Cal Gerrer” building and publicize the ceramics of the Arpí family, the Arxiu Marilyn Monroe, and the work of the Cabanas-Alibau brothers.
The headquarters of the Cabanes Foundation is located in the old ceramic factory “Fábrica de Productes Cerámics de Arpí”, popularly known as “Cal Gerrer”. This unique building houses a room for temporary exhibitions and three permanent ones.
This old ceramic factory, currently the only ceramic house-factory in the entire Spanish state, allows you to get acquainted with ceramic products made by Arpí potters. Also, you can get to know the works of art of the Cabañas-Alibau brothers and also, there is a collection of photographs and objects belonging to Marilyn Monroe, this being the first museum dedicated to the artist.
Another important part of the museum is the viewpoint, which offers views of the Monastery and the Collserola mountain range.
