This authorized full tour of the Dachau Memorial is a half day tour traveling via train from Munich at 9:00 and arriving back approximately 14:00. Your guide will not only explain in detail the horrors of the camp system but the plight of the various victims that suffered under this brutal system of murder and oppression, the rise of the NAZI party and many other events that took place throughout the 3rd Reich and World War 2. As we are a small independent company we go above and beyond to give our guests a memorable experience. Our small group tours have a maximum number of 18 guests per tour ensuring a personable experience.
The Old Town Walking Tour: Munich
This isn’t your typical “everyone does it” walking tour. No scripts, no history-book lectures—just great stories, local humor, and insider tips you won’t get exploring on your own. Our guides share what they genuinely find fascinating (and funny), while helping you make the most of your time in Munich.
Expect a relaxed, personal experience—no microphones, ear pieces, or flags in the air. Just a small group exploring Munich’s Old Town, including Stachus and Karlstor, Frauenkirche, Viktualienmarkt, Hofbräuhaus, the Residenz, Max-Joseph-Platz, and Munich’s history during the Third Reich.
This tour runs on a pay-what-you-feel basis to respect all travel budgets, while still delivering a high-quality professional experience. Guests are kindly asked to tip fairly based on the value of the tour (comparable Munich tours typically cost €17–€25 per person).
We can’t wait to get you local! :)
Note: Booking online may include a small reservation fee. Showing up at the starting point will not.

Munich Old Town Walking Tour in English
During our tour we will talk about both the light and dark pages of German history. We will learn about the history of Bavaria from the Roman beginnings of the city, through 700 years during which it was ruled by one powerful family, the Wittelsbachs, to the unification of Germany by Bismarck in the 19th century. We will see the places where Nazism was born, but also those where Joseph Ratzinger, the future Pope Benedict XVI, worked while still an archbishop. During the morning tour we will also see the Glockenspiel - a show of knightly figure fights in the city’s carillon.
Take a walk with us and get to know a city that combines like no other seemingly contradictory fields: history and motoring, art and technology, entrepreneurship and a specific lifestyle of Munich people, which is a mixture of self-confidence, freedom and cheerfulness. Perhaps all these contradictions are seamlessly united by what is most important to Munich people… beer!
