The forest is home to many species, but as wild animals, they are free to roam, and their appearance is often unpredictable. We encourage you to stay alert and enjoy the experience of being immersed in nature, regardless of the animals we may or may not encounter.
Palo Verde Jungle Tour
We will drive through back roads, sugar cane fields, local towns, see the locals digging up the sand used for the concrete… An unforgettable cultural experience. Next stop we will visit an elderly “Casona" a beautiful old house that belonged to 3 former presidents of Costa Rica… This venerable construction will tell the story of the Guanacaste cowboys or "sabaneros" who lived way before cars, cell phones or internet by the midst of the 1800s in a faraway era of colonial Costa Rica. We will then get in a covered motor boat through the Tempisque River and will cruise Palo Verde National Park looking for wildlife such as monkeys, crocodiles, iguanas, all kind of exotic birds, bats. Enjoy of some of our most precious traditions such as the “oxoperated sugar mill” (trapiche) where they grind the cane with oxen. Freshly cane juice will be offered to you to taste.

This tour is a unique experience that provides visitors with a true cultural understanding. Our philosophy was born from our local family who wanted to give clients an exclusive excursion different than conventional tours. We aim to provide our clients with an extraordinary experience by fully immersing them in this vibrant culture. This tour begins with a walk to a hidden organic coffee farm. Here, we have the chance to meet Capuchin White Face monkeys and Howler monkeys, who are both frequent visitors to the area. After spending time at the farm, we will go towards the upper part of the mountains, passing the original central town of Monteverde. This is where the Quakers settled in the 1950s and founded the cheese factory as well as the Quaker school. We will then catch a ride back to your hotel.

This 2708-meter (8,885-foot) high colossus is active, and you will not only admire its impressive crater and gas fumes, but also learn about its phreatic and fumarolic activity in addition to the different ecosystems and lush vegetation found in this beautiful national park.
