Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp - Tour in Italian
Visit the Sachsenhausen Memorial, which was the concentration camp closest to the Nazi capital and became a prototype on which all other camps were based.
On this tour we will take you back to the prisoners' daily life and their struggle for survival on the basis of selected biographies.
The prisoners were among others simply Communists, Jews and whoever else the Nazis considered their enemy. Just imagine that 200 000 inmates from 40 countries had been here.
We will take a train departing 5 minutes after the official start time of the tour. To avoid missing the train, it is essential to arrive at least 15 minutes early. The guided tour starts on time and late arrivals cannot be accommodated.
On the day of the guided visit, all participants are required to pay €3 in cash at the meeting point as a mandatory donation requested by the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Memorial. The full amount will be donated to the Memorial.
We recommend bringing something to eat and drink.

This private walking tour brings you to the places, where famous events of the Cold War happened and history was written. On this tour you will also see original pieces of the Wall, one of the last remaining guard towers and Checkpoint Charlie.
The tour starts at the Berlin Wall Documentation Center in the street "Bernauer Strasse", where many of the dramatic escape attempts took place, successful and tragic ones. You will ride one of the subways that were called "ghost trains" during the division of the city, so-called because of the gloomy atmosphere in the underground stations close to the wall. The tour also covers Checkpoint Charlie, the former military checkpoint and hot spot of the Cold War. This is the site where the fate of mankind was hanging by a thread in 1961 when US and Soviet tanks confronted each other.

We will continue exploring the Jewish Quarter, visiting the first Hebrew cemetery and the New Synagogue, an important center of Jewish life in Germany. We will finish the tour at the East Side Gallery, the world’s largest outdoor art gallery, where an extensive stretch of the Berlin Wall is preserved. If time permits, we can visit this emblematic work of art.

Then hike up from there to the Eagle's Nest and you will following the steps of the first American soldiers that got there by foot in May 1945.
