Explore Iximché, one of the most important archaeological sites in the Guatemalan Highlands and the former capital of the Kaqchikel Maya during the Late Postclassic period. Once a powerful political and ceremonial center (12th–15th centuries), Iximché played a key role during the Spanish Conquest and is considered the first capital of Guatemala.
Upon arrival, you will meet your local bilingual guide at the entrance of the site, where the guided visit begins. You will walk through the site’s four ceremonial plazas, surrounded by temples, structures reaching up to 10 meters high, and two Maya ball courts. Through clear explanations and storytelling, your guide will explain the social organization, rituals, and defensive strategies of the Kaqchikel people.
The visit also includes time at the on-site museum (closed on Mondays).

Our Pacaya Day tour starts at 7:00 am. Our driver will pick you up at your hotel´s door. The transportation services are private for you and your companion or group. All our vans are A/C, reclinable seats and cooler on board. The drive from Antigua to Pacaya Volcano National Park takes 1:30hrs.
The activity difficulty is moderate, taking around two hours. Once you go down, you have free time for refreshments. The detailed itinerary goes as follows:

Iximché Ruins Tour
You'll be collected in a private vehicle for the 1.5 hour trip to Iximche. There, our local guide will explain the lifestyle of the Mayans while you explore the museum and grounds. Perhaps you'll even see a Mayan spiritual ceremony. This site was the first Spanish capital of Guatemala after the invasion, and you'll learn about the lifestyle of the people who lived there. It is a post-classic site established in 1465 and offers a beautiful day out. The full experience is 5-6 hours round-trip.

Tikal From Guatemala
Visit one of the largest and most important Mayan places in Central America. Your day will start very early; Remember, your flight leaves at 6 in the morning so try to get to the airport an hour and a half before. After an hour of flight you'll arrive at Flores International Airport. Your Tour Guide will be waiting for you at the departure of the flights with a Tikal Go sign. We'll wait for the other people that will go to the tour and at 8 we'll be ready to start our tour to the Tikal National Park.
