Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park Guided Tour by Private Vehicle
We created this tour in response to strong requests from customers who want to see the snow monkeys at Jigokudani Monkey Park on a day trip from Tokyo.
Jigokudani Monkey Park is the only place in the world where you can encounter monkeys bathing in hot springs.
The monkeys learned to bathe in hot springs as a way to survive the bitter cold of Jigokudani in winter but there is no need for them to bathe in hot springs during warm seasons. Bathing in hot springs is only a small part of the monkeys' lives. Hot springs are not something that monkeys can't live without.
Unlike humans, they don't have the purpose of washing away dirt and cleansing their bodies. However, monkeys also feel good when they warm up in a hot spring, and this is clear from their expressions. Some monkeys close their eyes and doze off. On cold, snowy days, many monkeys take a dip in the hot springs, and some stay in the bath for hours. So, enjoy this tour where you can meet some adorable monkeys.
