Mount Kilimanjaro Trekking for East African Citizens (5 Days Marangu Route)
Kilimanjaro trekking Marangu route 5 days itinerary is fairly easy despite its difficult at the final part to the summit. Termed easier route, the route has encountered the highest failure rate due to bad preparation and untimely attempt. 1 Day Lake Chala
Lake Chala is a unique caldera lake, and is thought to be the deepest inland body of water in Africa. This lake is fed by underground springs from Mt. Kilimanjaro. The lake has a great diversity of life. From lush lake shore forest to stunning volcanic savannah; from river beds marvelously carved through ancient rock, to thick bush or open ‘mbuga’. Chala has a huge variety of amazing trees, grasses and plants; some are unique to the area. Kilimanjaro Rongai Route 6 Days
Rongai Route begins on the Northern side of Mount Kilimanjaro. It is a long drive to the starting point from Moshi town, but you are rewarded by fantastic views and sometimes you will be the only climbers around; Rongai route reviews. If you take this route up the mountain, you are obliged by park rules to descend via the Marangu Route on the South side of the mountain, therefore climbers see the mountain from many views point, which is the most popular and well used route.
6 Days Marangu Route.
Marangu Route:
The Marangu Route is also known as the "Coca Cola" or "tourist" route. It is the easiest and shortest route to the summit. This is also the only route with the comforts of sleeping huts with solar lights and comfortable beds. The huts are communal, and the bunks have a sponge mattress and pillow.
All climbing groups, often from several countries around the world, share meals in dining huts providing a jovial and energetic atmosphere.
This route is usually done on 5 days but can be done in 6 days for better acclimatization. The extra day can be spent resting at Horombo Huts or climbing the small peak of Mawenzi.

Climbing Kilimanjaro - 9 Day Northern Circuit
Depart from Arusha or Moshi. The Northern Circuit is the newest and longest route on Mount Kilimanjaro.
It begins in the West at the Londorossi Gate and follows the same path as the Lemosho route for the first two days. After crossing the Shira plateau the path veers north near Lava Tower, following the longer Northern Circuit instead of the more popular Southern Circuit via Barranco Valley The route circles around the quieter northern slopes to the east side of the mountain.
The Northern Circuit is longer than the other trails on Kilimanjaro, taking a minimum of eight or nine days to complete. The eight day trek skips the additional acclimatization day that is usually spent at Shira Camp 2 and continues straight on to Moir Camp.

Tanzania’s third largest National park is known for its majestic baobab trees that dot the landscape, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them.
