From Krakow: Wieliczka Salt Mine Private Transportation + tickets
About 10 miles (16 km) out of the city, but still within the Krakow metropolitan area, lies the city of Wieliczka, home to the renowned Salt Mine, considered to be the epitome of technological progress made by humans. Over the years, miners transformed the mine from a typical dark cave into a majestic location. By the 19th century, giant salt-crystal chandeliers lit the underground complex, they’re still today. Kraków- An Unforgettable Adventure With Full Dog Sled Ride
After picking you up from your hotel in Krakow we will head to the south of Poland. Our destination is 50 km from Kraków, a picturesque mountain village close to the border with Slovakia, situated in the fascinating natural wilderness of the Tatra Mountains.
Once we have arrived, we will visit a husky reserve where we will play with these friendly animals. The staff at the centre will show us how to prepare the harnesses and all the necessary materials to operate the sleds. You will also be shown how to drive the one form of transport that's perfectly adapted to the frozen terrain of the Tatra mountains.
After the instruction presentation, you'll be ready to try it for real. Accompanied by your instructor, who will drive, you will take a ride on your husky dog sled.
We finish the journey back at the husky dog sanctuary. From there we will return you to your hotel in Krakow.
Jewish Quarter, Oskar Schindler's sites and Kraków under Nazi occupation
In the beginning we go to see the very well preserved medieval Jewish quarter in Kazimierz, with its most interesting, ancient streets: Meisselsa, Józefa and Szeroka. Having this background we go over the Wisła (Vistula) River to find out the history of the Closed Jewish District (ghetto) in Podgórze. We also see the remaining parts of the ghetto wall in a very striking "matsevah-like" shape. Then we visit the historical museum in the former Schindler's Factory in Zabłocie. The new (opened in 2010), interactive exhibition shows how Kraków looked like days before WWII started and how WWII affected its people. Finally we visit the area of the concentration and labour camp in Płaszów, the monument and a villa where infamous commandant SS-Hauptsturmführer Amon Goeth (Ralph Fiennes in the movie) used to live.
