The starting point is Krakow. From there, drive about 60 kilometers to the former main camp of Auschwitz. Listen to your Guide who will explain the ancient function of the camp: Polish military barracks. At the entrance, notice the gate marked "Arbeit macht frei".
Visit the prisoner blocks, which now house memorabilia from camps and items left by prisoners. Admire photos and documents, shoes, suitcases, glasses and other belongings.
From Auschwitz, walk a short distance to the former Birkenau camp. There you will find gas chambers and crematoria.
