Bago, formerly known as Hanthawaddy, is a city and the capital of the Bago Region in Myanmar. It is located 91 kilometres north-east of Yangon. Bago is an excellent place to go as a day escape from Yangon and we can see the remains of a former capital, temples, pagodas and monastery.
