Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek -8 Days
Annapurna Himalayas is one of the most iconic landmarks in Nepal. As such, the trails to the south of these mountains also house exciting trekking adventures. Similarly, Rapid Annapurna Base Camp Trek explores these trails which have plenty of natural and cultural beauty. The trek follows the popular trails through the Annapurna Conservation Area. Likewise, this short trek is best for those with limited days to explore Nepal. Trekkers can also enjoy the views of mountains like Annapurna I (8091m), Dhaulagiri (8167m), and Fishtail (6993m).
Firstly, the trip begins as you arrive in Kathmandu and prepare for the trip. Next, you head towards the City of Lakes Pokhara. You can explore the vibrant streets of Pokhara and boat on the Phewa Lake. Then, you drive to Phedi and begin the trek officially.
Langtang Valley Trek
Trek over Gosainkunda back to Kathmandu instead of driving. Gosainkund is a beautiful blue high-altitude lake. It is preferable to trek to Gosainkunda on the return from Langtang rather than on the way, as it requires a fairly steep ascent, and by this point you will be better acclimatized, making the height of the lake (4,380 m.) less of a concern. (If trekking this route without a guide, be especially careful with the altitude—numerous people have been caught out by a dangerous error in a commonly available trekking map that incorrectly lists some altitudes.
Accommodation & meals
The Langtang Valley had been very well set-up with plenty of comfortable lodges. The standard here is good, with warm blankets, fireplaces, comfortable beds, the occasional hot shower (for an extra fee) and a variety of food. Don’t forget to try the momos in this region, as they are larger and more pastry-like than those commonly found in the capital.
Langtang Valley Trek - 10 Days
Langtang Valley Trekking may be the most accessible trekking area in Nepal yet it has remained mostly unnoticed by trekkers until now. On the Langtang Valley Trek the view of the valley and the mountains is constantly changing, but always incredibly beautiful.
At Langtang, 3430m, the landscape begins to seem surreal. The whole valley is open on all sides and dry as a desert. The magnificent Langtang Lirung, 7246m, dominates the myriad of huge peaks. As we climb the final distance to Kyanjin Gompa, the mountain views seem to become more and more magnificent with each step. A knoll overlooking the village gives a 270 degree panoramic view of glaciers and 5000 meter snowy white peaks.
At Kyanjin, 3870m, there is a monastery that is over 600 years old. Imagine the faith and determination it took to build this and survive the harsh winters around the same time Columbus discovered America.
From Kyanjin Gompa there are two equally awesome peaks to climb, depending on your energy levels.
