ANGLE - Experience New York With a Local Photographer
America’s “Big Apple” is an iconic city of landmarks and cultures. Visit the must-see sights, but look for the unexpected as well: the Whispering Gallery in Grand Central Station; a 12 x 20 foot piece of the Berlin Wall in Midtown Plaza; the catacombs beneath St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral; or lindy hop dance clubs in Harlem, birthplace of Swing dancing in the 1920s.
And whether a first-timer or a return visitor, get out of Manhattan! Staten Island Ferry is free and runs 24-hours a day, offering a picture-postcard view of the New York skyline and Lady Liberty. Walk the Brooklyn Bridge then stroll streets of iconic brownstone buildings and the Brooklyn Flea for vintage clothing. Catch the A Train (made famous by Duke Ellington) all the way to Queens!
You can’t eat the Big Apple in one bite. It’s too big and too delicious! Instead savor the city with bite-sized visits and book one of our New York photographers to capture it.
Gilded Age Midtown with Asian Culinary Delights Walking Tour
Did you know that the New York Public Library Main Branch is a prime example of Gilded Age architecture, and Grand Central Terminal is widely regarded as a quintessential Gilded Age building?
While almost all the interiors of the Fifth Avenue Gilded Age mansions are off-limits, this tour takes you inside these two magnificent New York City icons. We’ll also stop by the opulent J.P. Morgan House (now the Morgan Library & Museum), the grand Joseph Raphael De Lamar House (now the Polish Consulate General), and the distinctive James F.D. Lanier House (now for sale at $17.5 million).
As we stroll along these institutions and mansions, feeling their awe, we’ll also sample flavors that break every old law of Gilded Age stuffiness by tasting delicious Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and Thai delights, such as onigiri, kimbap, dumplings, satay, and more.
Walk with a local New Yorker and explore!
Chelsea Market Bites A Guided Food and History Tour
Blood, Sugar, & Sea Bugs: The Dark History of Chelsea Market Forget the standard, sanitized foodie walkthrough. Chelsea Market might be a culinary paradise today, but this massive brick monolith was built on a foundation of brutal industrial labor, combustible sugar dust, and the literal blood of the Meatpacking District. Join this self-guided feast through the weird and radical underworld of New York’s west side. We’ll eat our way through the market while uncovering the bizarre, unsanitized, and slightly morbid history of the neighborhood. You’ll discover how the world’s most famous cookie was born in an industrial grind, why lobsters were once considered absolute garbage fit only for prisoners, and how a scenic elevated park was built solely to stop freight trains from running people down on "Death Avenue." Come hungry, bring a dark sense of humor, and get ready to look at your artisanal hot dog in a completely different light.

NEON SIGN MAKING PARTY (Energy Efficiency Chat)
Compared with traditional glass neon lights, neon wall lights are brighter and more beautiful and are not easily damaged and broken, no noise, safe and environmentally friendly. Reducing energy consumption is one way to go green. Another is to reduce the amount of toxic materials released into the environment.
LEDs are good for both the environment and the bottom line:
LEDs also can last up to 25 times longer than incandescent and halogen lights, and up to three times longer than most compact fluorescent lights.
If more people used LEDs it could add up to significant energy savings.Energy.gov estimates that by 2027, widespread use of LED lighting in the U.S. could save the equivalent electrical output of 44 large electric power plants — a total savings of more than $30 billion at today's electricity prices. They also emit little heat, which means less money spent for cooling costs.
