Hop aboard Vigilant and enjoy a beautiful day sailing in the Bay of Islands. We only take 10 passengers, the small group allows you to lounge on the yacht comfortably and enjoy the islands privately. Our skipper lives here in Russell and knows plenty about it's history which they will be happy to share with you.
Vigilant is a beautiful traditional 42 ft Cutter rig yacht with a wineglass transom, teak decks, and a swamp kauri wooden interior. Enjoy an adventure away from the crowds of sightseers. Here, you can steer your own experience by helping the skipper at the helm, hoisting the sails or, if you prefer, just relaxing on deck while you journey from island to island. If you wish, you can swim on one of the beaches, snorkel and kayak. Comb the shores and walk around to see some great lookouts with panoramic views of the islands.

Skippers Canyon 4WD Heritage half day Tour from Queenstown
This half-day 4WD heritage tour explores the dramatic Skippers Canyon, following the historic Skippers Road, hand-built during the Otago gold rush and carved into the cliffs above the Shotover River. Travel with an experienced local guide who navigates this remarkable road while sharing stories of the pioneers and miners who shaped the region.
Enjoy multiple scenic and historic stops throughout the canyon, including viewpoints of the iconic Skippers Suspension Bridge and other significant gold-mining sites. Please note: Access over Skippers Bridge is currently closed due to long-term maintenance and safety works. As a result, access to the schoolhouse and cemetery is also unavailable. Tours now operate to permitted points within the canyon, with alternate scenic and historical stops included.

The Awesome Scenic Rafting Adventure - Full Day Rafting on the Rangitikei River
With over 30 Grade 2 (easy) rapids, amazing scenery and a riverside lunch, the 13 km section of the Rangitikei River downstream from River Valley Lodge is perfect for all ages.
On the way down the river, immense cliffs cradle the river canyon. It is in one of these sections that we stop and have a picnic lunch. From there it is a relaxing float out to the take out, followed by a scenic drive back to River Valley Lodge.
For those wanting more of an adventure, we can run this trip with inflatable kayaks. Or, for those who are less active we can take oared rafts.
This is a full day trip, departing from River Valley Lodge at 9.30am. You will be spending approximately 4 hours on the river, plus a stop for your picnic lunch along the way.

Let us take you on an impressively scenic road out to the southern coast of New Zealand's North Island. We'll drive to the coast and then to Cape Palliser, the southernmost point of the North Island. We'll drive along the coast and have spectacular views of the open sea and maybe even the South Island. We'll see unusual land formations, drive through the unique fishing village of Ngawi, last the fur seal colony and then get to Cape Palliser where, if you are up for it, we'll climb the 253 steps to the lighthouse. Then we double back to Lake Ferry for lunch at the historic Lake Ferry Hotel. To complete the day we return to Martinborough to taste pinot noir at a Martinborough winery.
