Makers and Artisans of Portland Walking Tour
Explore the past and the present of Portland's craft culture. Portland was a leader in the DIY culture and is home to every kind of food and beverage, from tea and kombucha to coffee and handmade soda; candies to hot sauces; imports and things made of recycled goods right in the warehouse district. Pottery studios, coworking sewing spaces, letter press publishers, enormous thrift cooperatives, and one of the nation's leading tile makers are all creating and encouraging locals to get inspired, get fed, get creating!
We'll explore several of these makers, and take home a few things made right in the neighborhood. 2-3 miles (3-5 km) of walking, with tastes of tea and a snack as well. We always keep groups very small.

Alberta Arts District History Walking Tour
In 1903 the Alberta streetcar line spurred the growth of this then-suburban neighborhood. Over the next decade, as the population of Portland doubled, Alberta thrived and its business district would mirror those streetcar districts throughout the city. In the 1940s, as the automobile took over, redlining created a thriving multicultural neighborhood that would become known for art, jazz, great food, and a tight community. City Lights and Bridge Tour
Classy pontoon boat tour by or through 10 bridges and around 4 islands! We depart in sight of the new Sellwood bridge, then cruise past the Iconic Oaks Amusment Park and by the oldest yacht club on the west coast then down the east side of East, HardTack and Ross Islands before going through Ross Island, Lighted Tillicum Crossing, Marquam, Hawthorne, Morrison, Burnside and Steel bridges where we catch a great view of the Golden Gate Red Broadway bridge, and the grand arches of the Freemont Bridge. We finish the tour with a cruise through Downtown and up the west side channel past the buried treasure of Toe Island and back to the dock. Columbia Gorge Scenic Bikeway full day ride
If there is any adventure that we love more than biking in the Columbia River Gorge, we would be hard-pressed to identify it. The cycling here is world-renowned and it's no accident it's one of less than a dozen places in the world to have a Peloton-guided scenic ride created around it. We get to do that in real life! We will ride between 35 and 60 miles (60 - 100 km) depending on your interests and the group, with lots of up and down hills, although all at gentle slopes and lower elevations (nothing over 900 feet / 300 meters).
The adventure here is a challenge but not an unsurmountable one; from one end of the Columbia River Gorge Scenic Highway to another, or an out-and-back ride from a stunning viewpoint, along a scenic highway, then onto a protected bike/pedestrian pathway. Either way, we will ride some of the country's most beautiful roads and visit beautiful waterfalls like Multnomah and Horsetail Falls.
