The secluded village of Zalipie is home to a charming tradition. Over a century ago the women of the village began to paint their houses: however, it was not the single, uniform color one might expect from a traditional and conservative society.

Treblinka Camp Museum tour from Warsaw with hotel pickup
This day tour from Warsaw visits Treblinka II Extermination Camp Memorial and Museum, one of the most important Holocaust sites in Poland. Located near Małkinia, Treblinka II was the second-deadliest Nazi German extermination camp, where around 900,000 Jews were murdered during World War II.
Travel with an English-speaking guide who provides historical context on Nazi occupation and the Holocaust in occupied Poland. The visit begins at the Treblinka II Museum, featuring artefacts, documents, photographs, survivor testimonies, and a scale model of the camp, along with a short documentary film.
Afterward, walk along symbolic railway tracks into the former camp area. Although the original buildings were destroyed in 1943, memorial installations mark key locations. The visit concludes at the central monument made of over 17,000 stones, commemorating destroyed Jewish communities.

Auschwitz Birkenau Guided Tour with Hotel Pickup
Visit Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II–Birkenau, two of the most significant memorial sites dedicated to the history of the Holocaust and World War II. During the guided tour of Auschwitz I, guests pass through the historic gate marked with the words “Arbeit macht frei” and explore the preserved brick barracks, which today serve as museum exhibition spaces. These exhibitions present the history of deportations, the everyday experiences of prisoners, and original items that once belonged to victims. The tour also includes the courtyard between Blocks 10 and 11 with the Execution Wall, Block 11 known as the “Death Block,” as well as the first gas chamber and crematorium.
The second part of the visit continues at Auschwitz II–Birkenau, the largest area of the former camp complex. Here, visitors will see the main gate and railway ramp where deportation trains once arrived, along with the remains of prisoner barracks and the ruins of gas chambers and crematoria.
