This activity has been designed by a local ‘expert’, who has created a fun experience that takes you to some of the town’s highlights and the lesser-known places, away from all the tourists. This hike connects two of the tallest peaks of Madeira Island. This is a stunning route, which includes tunnels and a few stretches with steep rises and descents, offering fabulous views of the island’s central massive.

Near the Pico Ruivo shelter is the track PR 1.2, which leads to the Achada do Teixeira. Already at Achada do Teixeira you can see the basaltic rock formation known as “Man in Foot”, located in the descent after passing through the shelter of Achada do Teixeira.
