Cave, Waterfall and River Adventure in Charco Azul from San Juan
This is an absolutely unforgettable experience. This day trip has it all: adventure, pristine tropical rivers, waterfalls, cave swimming, beautiful scenery, adrenaline, fun and even some archeology/history along the day.
We will swim through caves, go under cool waterfalls, and even cliff jump from cliffs ranging from 8 to 27 feet (optional of course.) The place is almost undiscovered, not like El Yunque where you can easily encounter hundreds of people in a single day. Mostly just locals here or people who come with us! The drive from the meeting point to the rainforest caves is about one hour. Along the way you will see the real Puerto Rico, quite removed from the tourist area. Taino Indian Cave, Arecibo Hike and Beach Tour from San Juan

The drive to Arecibo is About an hour and it is beautiful from start to finish. We arrive and begin our hike to the cave of the Taino. Bring good shoes as the hike is quite rocky. The entrance to the cave is not for claustrophobic people. it is bit challenging but with our careful instructions you will be able to get inside (barring any physical conditions that hinder you). The cave is other worldly. You get transported to the past as you see the over 100 carvings in the stone that are hundreds, maybe thousands, of years old. After we exit the cave we will hike through the famous 7 arches of Arecibo. The arches are natural rock formations which can be appreciated in pictures, but only in person will you realize how beautiful it all really is. Last we visit a non-touristy beach that is amazing!

The hiking trail is considered to be moderately difficult (Level 4 of 5). You’ll hike up 500 feet at a 40-degree incline. After the roughly 45-minute hiking exercise, you’ll reach the Mt. Britton observation tower. It’s elevated at 3,087 feet over the sea level. And you’ll be rewarded with an amazing, 360-degree view of the Atlantic Ocean, metropolitan area, and Caribbean Sea. If you’re lucky, you can even see Puerto Rico’s islands of Culebra and Vieques!
