Queenstown Kawarau River Whitewater Rafting
Raft the Kawarau River, perhaps better known as the River Anduin in Lord of the Rings, for a great half-day activity in Queenstown This is a perfect introduction to whitewater rafting for first-timers. There will be plenty of rapids action plus time to sit back and enjoy the spectacular scenery. Catch the free shuttle from the centre of town out to the raft base where you will be fitted out with all your gear.
Your rafting adventure covers 8-kilometers of the river. Take on grade 2-3 rapids and perhaps the occasional grade 2-4 rapid, when there are higher water levels. Enjoy flat stretches of river between the rapids where you have the opportunity to race your friends on the other rafts or jump out and swim. Conclude your adventure by rafting the longest commercially rafted rapid in New Zealand, the Dog Leg. This is a 400-meter long and grade 3/4 rapid. Add some extra excitement by joining in on the optional cliff jumping section, or sit back and watch your friends take a leap.

Queenstown Half-Day Canyoning Adventure
Our half day canyoning experience has a little bit of everything in an action packed 4 hour (approx) round trip. We walk in through a native beech forest that hides the deep canyon. Once in, we navigate the canyon by zipline, abseiling/rappelling waterfalls, plunging into clear pools, floating down narrow passageways and cascading down chutes - all in beautiful natural surroundings.
It's an awesome and exhilarating experience. The Queenstown canyon half day trip is suitable for first-timers to adventure seekers and is a great option for groups and team building. No previous canyoning experience is required but you should be confident in deep water and have a reasonable level of fitness.
Minimum age is 12 years & maximum weight is 120kg.
We are the only canyoning operator to use 2 guides on each trip, with showers & changing rooms at our base facility - tea, coffee or hot chocolate provided post trip.

Lord of the Rings and Glacier Helicopter Tour

You will fly along the Shotover River, over the mountain range from the opening scene of The Two Towers on the way to landing on a glacier alongside the Misty Mountains and get a sense of what it might be like to cross The Redhorn Pass. You will head across to Glenorchy via the Dart Valley and Mt Earnslaw to see the natural features you may better recognize as Isengard, Amon Hen and Lothlorien.
