Petrópolis - The imperial city
Many tourists do not know that at less than two hours drive from Rio there is a small and wonderful city at an altitude of 800 meters that is worth knowing. This is Petrópolis, called "the imperial city" because in the nineteenth century Emperor Pedro II had made this place his summer residence. With this tour I want to present you some of the most important places in the city: the Quitandinha Palace, the Praça da Liberdade, the imposing Saõ Pedro Cathedral, the Imperial Palace, and the home of Santos Dumont, the father of Brazilian aviation. But Petrópolis is much more than all this: we will visit the ancient Bohemia beer factory and cannot miss a walk in the Via Thereza, where there are dozens of clothing stores with very advantageous prices. Not to mention the Christmas period, when the city lights up with splendid decorations and offers musical performances and shows every day that have made it famous throughout Brazil.
Petrópolis will amaze you!

After the lunch break we will move to Itacoatiara to admire a landscape so wonderful that it has earned this place the title of one of the 15 most beautiful beaches in Brazil. On the way back to Rio we will go up to the City Park, an unmissable panoramic point in the greenery of the Mata Atlantica, from which it is possible to admire a landscape of Rio that I am sure will be unforgettable.
Experience the magic of the Rio Carnival all year round!
The Rio de Janeiro Carnival is undoubtedly famous throughout the world, but not everyone really knows the history of what is considered the greatest show on the planet.
The history of the carnival is really interesting and is still alive today because it mixes with the history of Brazil and the city of Rio, with the phenomenon of slavery, with the culture, religion, music and folklore of African origin.
In this tour of approximately 7 hours we want to tell you a little about all this and to do so we will start from an area of the city center known as "Little Africa" where the history, culture and art of those who have unfortunately had to suffer the tragedy of slavery gave life to the wonderful spectacle of the Carioca carnival. We will then visit the Samba Museum (it will be a real experience!) and then we will go to know the place where the allegorical floats and costumes of the Rio Carnival are made. There will be no shortage of surprises on this unforgettable day!
