Semi-Private Edinburgh City Walking Tour with a Local Expert Guide
Edinburgh is one of the most ancient cities in England. Memories of the first settlement recall the Roman castrum – fortress – from which has started growing and evolving century by century. Despite time has passed by, the Medieval atmosphere of the cobblestoned streets and dark passages and alleys remains. And probably this is one of the characters that make this city unique in the world.
Follow your guide in this journey through the centuries and listen to stories and legends of Edinburgh. Pass by Royal Miles, look at the amazing St. Giles Cathedral, cross the Parliament Square and reach one of the landmarks of the heart of the city: the John Know’s House – a Museum dedicated to the founder of the Presbyterian Church of Scotland.
Last but not the least, peek at the Edinburgh Castle, the Scottish landmark par excellence.
During the tour your guide will also provide you useful tips and additional info about the Scottish culture.

This 3 day tour will allow you to see some truly spectacular places around Scotland with stunning views and scenery. Day 1 - you have the option to take a cruise on Loch Lomond if this interests you. However if you do not wish to do this and time permitting we could change this to a Whisky Distillery Tour of either Glengoyne Distillery or Auchentoshan Distillery. Day 2 - would end in Inverness and therefore you would have to book accommodation for this night separately. Day 3 - I have added in a Whisky Distillery tour at Dalwhinnie Distillery however this can be changed to Tomatin Distillery or instead of a Distillery Tour I can include more sightseeing. This day can end in Glasgow or Edinburgh.

Queer History and Iconic Places: An Edinburgh Audio Tour
Like many cities, Edinburgh’s queer history runs deep, yet it’s hidden in plain sight. On this walking tour, I’ll reveal the city’s queer past, shed light on queerness in Edinburgh today, and share some fascinating tidbits about Scotland’s capital too.
Along with finding out about the little-known history of cruising on the hill and Edinburgh’s response to the AIDS crisis, you’ll be able to soak up splendid city views. From there, you’ll make your way down to Broughton Street, the heart of LGBTQ+ Edinburgh. Along the way, I’ll point out the site of the country’s first LGBT centre, and where Scotland’s first queer bookshop, Lavender Menace, used to be.
Please note that the tour includes mention of subjects like sex and drug use and as such is not suitable for children. There’s no explicit content, so it may be suitable for young people at their parent or guardian’s discretion.
Mary Queen of Scots’ Edinburgh: A History Hit Audio Tour
Take a stroll down Edinburgh’s Royal Mile and step right into one of history’s wildest political dramas with this self-guided audio tour produced by History Hit.
On this GPS-guided tour, you’ll follow in the footsteps of Mary Queen of Scots, weaving through the same closes, kirkyards, and cobblestone streets she once knew.
The tour starts at the gates of the Palace of Holyroodhouse, where you’ll hear about baby Mary’s daring escape to France after Henry VIII’s army torched the place. From there, you’ll head up the Royal Mile and into medieval Edinburgh. You’ll wander past Canongate Kirkyard and St Giles’ Cathedral, before ending the tour at Edinburgh Castle.
This isn’t your typical tragic queen story. On this 45-minute tour, you’ll see Mary as a tough, savvy ruler who played a nearly impossible game. Come ready for some seriously dramatic history – and a whole new perspective on Scotland’s most misunderstood queen.
Fairytale Dunrobin Castle, Millionaire Viewpoint & Highland Cows
This isn’t just a sightseeing trip — it’s a carefully curated journey through the very soul of the Scottish Highlands, blending history, nature, whisky, and wildlife into one unforgettable day.
You’ll stand at the Millionaire’s View and understand why the Highlands take your breath away, wander cobbled streets that have barely changed in centuries, and come face to face with iconic Highland cows on a working farm — not a tourist attraction.
At the heart of the day is Dunrobin Castle, one of Scotland’s most spectacular yet lesser-known treasures. With formal gardens inspired by Versailles and a history stretching back through the powerful Clan Sutherland, it rivals anything Europe has to offer — without the crowds.
The tour also weaves in authentic Highland hospitality, from a whisky bar inside a 15th-century castle to a peaceful finale at Loch Fleet, where seals bask undisturbed on the sandbanks.
This is the Highlands as they were meant to be experienced — wild, grand, and personal.
