Instead of the forest, we’ll explore the surrounding area, starting at the Pangoni Caves to uncover legends of Zanzibar’s past. Next, we’ll visit a traditional village, welcomed by the mganga (healer), who’ll share ancestral wisdom and healing practices. We’ll stroll through the village, observe daily life, and join a handicraft workshop with locals. The Shira Route is a little used trail that begins near Shira Ridge. It is nearly identical to the Lemosho route. In fact, Shira was the original route and Lemosho is the improved variation.
