The event will be held at つきまさ(Tsukimasa), a Japanese tea store in Shimokitazawa that has been in business for 46 years.
The instructor, who has 20 years of experience as an instructor and is well versed in the history, production methods, and enjoyment of Japanese tea, will demonstrate how to make matcha and sencha green tea.
The instructor also has many years of experience in the tea ceremony and will talk about tea ceremony etiquette.
Afterwards, participants will have the opportunity to try their hand at making matcha and brewing sencha.
A tea time to enjoy matcha and sencha teas and a choice of Japanese sweets is included.
I can answer questions about Japanese tea and Japanese culture, so please ask lots of questions.
If you get matcha or sencha, you can enjoy tea at home after you return to Japan.
