Trinidad’s highest waterfall local cuisine and transport included
Explore Trinidad’s tallest waterfall. Maracas Valley lies just north of Trinidad’s first capital. Once inhabited and thought sacred by the island’s first people, the single drop waterfall stands at approximately 300 feet. Stepping into this basin feels like stepping back in time, surrounded by nature, this is one of Trinidad’s hidden gems.
The hike on average takes about 40 minutes and although uphill, is a 4 out of 10 in terms of difficulty for persons reasonably fit and active.
After the falls, we guide you to back down the trail to Ballata pools, where guests can fully submerge themselves and relax in mountains fresh and rejuvenating waters.

Rio Seco Waterfall Day Adventure
The trail to the Rio Seco waterfall begins on the Toco Main Road where the beautiful Salybia River flows lazily into the ocean. The trail winds through the primary rainforest of Matura that most times over looks the bubbling river.
The rugged trail would take approximately 60 minutes hike one way, with a rating of 4/10. (Moderate Difficulty) . Expect to maneuver over fallen trees and step over tree roots.
Hikers must wear shoes and clothing suitable for trekking along a muddy trail.
Walk with an extra change of dry clothing and a towel for after the hike.
