Tokyo's hidden nature cycling tour - Okutama Historical Road Tour
Join me as we cycle along the old road of Okutama once used as a trade route to Tokyo.
I will introduce you to the history, nature and culture of the area, which is very different from Tokyo. Along the way, we will come across springs, wasabi fields, old shrines, mountain villages, and maybe spot some wildlife along the way. Our destination is Lake Okutama, a large man made lake, there will visit a small museum exhibiting historic artifacts. We'll then return to town to soak our feet at local onsen - hot spring.

This tour take you 3 popular spots around Shimizu. Nihondaira Plateau (Green tea field and Mt.Fuji view at Nihondaira Ocha Kaikan, Nihondaira Yume Terrace Observatory, → Ryugeji-Temple, a beautiful small temple with its famous Cycas revoluta → Miho Beach (Miho Pine Tree Grove= a part of Mt.Fuji World Heritage, Miho no Matsugara Culture & Creativity Center) You can enjoy spectacular view of Shimizu, and familiar temple which is not touristic.
