You will drive to the slopes of Kilimanjaro, up to Materuni village. From there you will hike for about 30 minutes and pass by the local coffee farmers where you will get a chance to hear how local farmers grow coffee and process it till it’s sold. Also, you will get time to prepare your own coffee and drink and take some home with you. This will take about an hour.

Ndoro Waterfall, is located in the beautiful country side surrounding Marangu. A one hour hike thru the lush landscapes of Chagga land will take you to the entrance hut of Ndoro, where you will be given a hiking stick to assist you to the base of the fall. Simple steps, occasionally steep, with banisters consisting of thick tree branches, have been edged into the hill and zigzag toward the bottom.

Marangu Route:
The Marangu Route is also known as the "Coca Cola" or "tourist" route. It is the easiest and shortest route to the summit. This is also the only route with the comforts of sleeping huts with solar lights and comfortable beds. The huts are communal, and the bunks have a sponge mattress and pillow.
All climbing groups, often from several countries around the world, share meals in dining huts providing a jovial and energetic atmosphere.
This route is usually done on 5 days but can be done in 6 days for better acclimatization. The extra day can be spent resting at Horombo Huts or climbing the small peak of Mawenzi.

Materuni Waterfalls and Coffee Day Tour
This territory has the perfect mixture of climate and soil to produce some of the best coffee in Africa. While at the village you will get to explore the lives of the Chagga people and do coffee tours, harvest, roast, and grind and make a cup of coffee. Normally we ask our clients to try roasting and preparing a fresh cup of coffee the Chagga way. After a delightful coffee tour you will head to the waterfalls passing through coffee and banana plantations. Along the way your guide will teach you about local plants and how they are used for food and traditional medicine and how they make local brew, as well as giving you more insight into the local Chagga culture. You will have your packed lunch and spend the rest of the afternoon at the waterfalls. 8 Days Mount Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route Climb
As a newer route, it is more remote and arguably more beautiful, but a bit longer and slightly more expensive. It starts on the Western side of the mountain at the Londorossi Gate which is a further drive from town, and was introduced as an alternative to the Shira route.
After beautiful forests and moorlands it crosses the Shira Plateau on day 3 to connect with the Machame Route at Lava Tower and down towards Barranco Valley via the Southern Circuit. You may be lucky enough to see buffalo, elephant and other game. Because this route can be done over a longer period of time for acclimatization, it has a higher success rate of the summit.
