The Pedra Bonita mountain is located in the Tijuca National Park in São Conrado, Rio de Janeiro.
Considered one of the highest mountains of the city, the huge rock with its 696 meters of altitude has a privileged location.
There is also a Hang Gliding ramp, where hang gliders and para gliders take off and land on Pepino’s
Beach, which is considered one of the most beautiful flights in the world. The view from there is amazing, a huge plateau in front of the famous Pedra da Gávea, views from South and West Beaches and natural landscapes.

We first stop at Prainha, a small and protected beach considered the surf spot in Rio where you'll hike 1,5h to Caeté Summit (253m=830ft) that ofers a great view of the coast and other mountains of Rio. From Prainha, in a 5 more min. drive we reach Grumari, our last stop and where we stay to enjoy the beach for about 3h. Grumari it´s also a protected area and you'll enjoy an amazing and paradisiac tropical beach with white and fine grain sands, green mountains and clear waters (bring towel and bathing suit).

Pedra da Gavea Hike - Best Prices - Small Groups
If you are a outdoor enthusiast or regular hiker, you will love this activity. Gavea is one of the highest mountains in Rio, and has the best views. The 2.5 hours hike to the summit is not for anyone. Travelers must be in good physical conditions as the trail is steep and at some point, we have to do a little climbing, and will wear climbing gear for safety purposes. The tour includes a private car and bilingual guide, pick up and drop off and safety gear. Customers must take with them the following: backpack with plenty of water, snacks, fruits and sandwiches, wear sunscreen, a hat or a cap, comfortable shoes and clothes. Sugar Loaf Natural Monument, one of Rio’s most famous icons, consists of two hills. The higher one is the Sugar Loaf (396m / 1030ft), and the lower is Urca Hill (220m / 722ft).
The Costão Trail, which takes us to the top of Sugar Loaf, requires a quick climb (15m / 49ft), considered easy by the experienced and indicated for beginners. All safety equipment are included!
